Something About Not Wearing Suits

President Zelinskyy didn’t wear a suit to the White House, and he is a hero. Maybe we need more people who don’t wear suits, getting things done and making the world a better place. It seems like some people in suits are making the world worse.

Something About Being Woke

The word “Woke” in my mind is one of a call to action. Merriam-Webster defines it this way, “Aware of and actively attentive to important societal facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice).” To me as a believer, it’s a call to action.

It’s a word with history for the African-American community to be vigilant against those who would do harm to their community. Unfortunately, the word has a negative connotation for some. For so many they have to be woke because it keeps them alive.

We all need to be woke these days. Lots of bad things are happening, and many people are experiencing pain for many reasons. In as much as I can be, I am woke, awake, and compassionate. I think good people should aspire to be what woke is in the best spirit of it all.

Something About My Future Posts

My future posts will be respectful, but more of what’s going on in my head. Some of it will make sense, some of it won’t. Like many of you, I am trying to figure out what’s going on. Know this, my heart and head are wired differently and that’s awesome, I feel. I am not up for debating stuff, all I want to do is blow off some steam when I want to. Thanks for putting up with my rantings. There are more to come.

Something About Everything Going On

I find myself so jacked up on emotions about what is going on in the world that I wish I could take a break from it all. On the other hand, keeping up with what’s going on seems to be prudent. Like many other people, we are trying to sort through the events of the day, and it is a lot. I don’t know, but I do know you can’t care about everything. I am contemplating a Facebook break, let’s see how that goes, maybe.

Something About Black History Month

February is Black History Month. It’s also strange that this important celebration falls on the shortest month of the year. People of African heritage have made significant contributions to the world, don’t forget that. Thank you to all whom we honor this month for making the world better for everyone. Some in power would want you to forget that bit of information.

Something About Internet Opinions

Hey, guess what???? The Internet is full of opinions and commentary. Like noses, we all have opinions about one thing or another. Some opinions are informed and helpful, while others are not. I don’t believe everyone feels the same way about everything. You look at what people are saying and it comes from a place of one’s experiences and values. No matter where you go on the Interweb someone has something to say. It’s OK to have opinions, just try not to be hurtful or personal in expressing them. I am certain that whoever reads this will have some feedback for me.
