Rambling About Heat
Heat can bring things together, it can can tear people apart. Sweat is a result of a body burning off fuel. Without heat things can’t grow. Heat can make it hard to rest at night. In the heat of the night lovers come together. The heat of the moment can show in your eyes someone once sang. Heat is energy going in all different places and spaces. A hot summer night can be a time to celebrate. Heat can make something taste better, different. We need heat in the same measure we need cold. May heat be something that makes life better, not worse.
Music Monday – Phil Madeira – The Ghost of Johnny Cash
I heard Phil Madeira at the Episcopal Churchmen of Tennessee conference this past weekend. Madeira has worked with a lot of great musicians in the Nashville Area. He is a fellow Episcopalian too which make this even cooler. He has a edgy, classic sound that speaks to the soul. Check him out.
If We Must Monday

I hope everyone has had a good Monday. After a long weekend it was hard to get going but I am getting into the grove. My bad news is spending money on getting the air conditioning fixed, no one likes to do that. As usual I am looking ahead to Friday. I hope your day is going well.
Status Update
I am home from the weekend away. The air conditioning in our house is not working so blogging in long form isn’t happening, it’s too hot. I hope you all have had a great weekend.
A Reflection on My Saturday Morning
It was a cool morning celebrating the Eucharist with a couple hundred Episcopal men. There is something to be said for abiding in the peace of Christ in a familiar place but has new significance because of my new connection to it. Be with us Lord Christ. Peace of the Lord be with you.
I am at a men’s retreat this weekend through my Episcopal parish. This weekend is a much needed one for renewal and spirit. Thanks for being cool with my churchy posts.
