Six Word Story

Social justice exists for those oppressed.

Flower, Weed, Both

Every person has the capability to be a beautiful flower but they can also be a weed that chokes other flowers. I admit I have the ability to be both a flower and a weed at the same time or alternating between the two. People are very complex like that and require an enormous amount of grace and understanding. Our situations dictate what we are going to be at any given time. God (or ones higher power) has love for both the flower and the weed and that should give comfort to us all. Often times when getting rid of weeds you also get rid of flowers too.

It should also mean that the weeds in ones life have a purpose and are worthy of the love of someone who looks like a rose. No matter what you are at this time weed or flower know that there are others who are just like you and know that you are valued and needed. There are bigger plans for each of us than we realize. One day we will all be flowers although some of us will have a few thorns too.

Being on WordPress is a lot less stressful than being on Facebook. But we already knew that didn’t we?

I have had some fun reading blogs and commenting on them without worrying about getting flamed. Thanks for being a wonderful online social community.

A Chill Saturday

I am taking today to rest and relax. After a weird week and then coming home from vacation this Saturday is about chilling out. Granted I have done a few lightly productive things so I haven’t been completely lazy. I don’t feel as if I have had to do anything that requires a great deal of labor or effort. Sometimes downtime is the most productive thing you can do. Our lives can get way too busy so we need a moment to catch our breath and perhaps take a nap. Well I have taken one nap today, there might be another on the way.

Flashback Friday #FBF – A Friday At Six Flags Over Georgia

Last week we went to Six Flags over Georgia for a fun time in the hot south. They are celebrating 50 years of making memories. This was a good weekend to get away.
