Getting A Little Crazy, Well Maybe No

I was asked by a person at work if I had ever done anything crazy as a teen/younger person. My answer was no. As a teenager I didn’t have a ton of friends and my only social outlet was church youth group and school. Other than that I didn’t get invited to a lot of places to do a lot of things other than youth group stuff. So I didn’t have a lot of opportunity to do really crazy things. Thee was a time when I did manage to go out with some peeps and got thrown out of a McDonald’s because we were being too loud.

Flash forward to today and I think had I done something crazy it would have impacted my life in the present. I am who I probably was meant to be. Life, faith, spirituality, karma, the universe, whatever has a way of leading to do things that will shape your future.

From where I sit now maybe a pierced ear or perhaps something else benign. I am grateful for the time spent with family who I consider my role models and I did spend time with older folks my parents and grandparents knew. Perhaps I am a old soul with now a youthful spirit or something like that.

Everyone has done stuff in their past that makes them who they are today. Maybe I was born to be mild. As Lady Gaga sings I was born this way. Someone who is radical, open minded, eclectic and loving. Yeah, it’s crazy right?

Crock-Pot Cheeseburger Macaroni

This is delicious, easy and filling. In a crock pot it is even better. Enjoy this yourself!

When I was a poor, single girl, this was my favorite variety of that “just add hamburger” stuff in a box. This version is almost as easy, and far more tasty (with ingredients you can pronounce that are probably in your kitchen right now!)
  • 1.25 to 1.5 lbs lean ground beef
  • 2 15 oz cans tomato sauce
  • 2 cups dried macaroni noodles
  • 1 cup beef broth (plain water will work too)
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup milk (plus more if needed)
  • 3 tbsp dried minced onion
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic (or 1 tsp garlic powder)
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning blend*
  • 1 tsp paprika*
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
Brown ground beef in skillet on high; switch to medium-low and stir in onion, flour, garlic, and seasonings. Heat on low until onions and flour have soaked up the remaining grease, and scrape into slow cooker. Add…

Throwback Thursday – Fleetwood Mac – Don’t Stop

This song was played for Bill Clinton at his inaugural ball back in 1993. It sort has been the theme song for the Clinton’s over the years. This song inspires us all to don’t stop thinking about tomorrow and its promise.

I Support Hillary Clinton For President #imwithher

Former US President Ronald Reagan once said America is a shining city on a hill. I believe that promise still possible but it will be achieved by love, grace, mercy and inclusion. It will take a village saying yes we can. America is stronger together. America is a better place when every person can realize the promise of the founders then and now of our freedom to pursue life, liberty and happiness without bounds. As an American first and Democrat second I worry about a future where every person can dream and hope and love who they choose.

The America I know shows compassion and toughness when needed. Our moral compass is built on liberty and justice for all. No matter what your faith, creed, heritage and gender you should have a true level playing field. The days ahead are about setting the table for the future and showing our kids that boasting and bullying are not the hallmarks of what a leader is about. It’s about a lifetime of service of helping people from every walk of life and putting people first.

So without reservation I support the election of Secretary Hillary Clinton as the next president of The United States and Senator Tim Kaine as Vice President.
