Juneteenth is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. Juneteenth marks the anniversary of the announcement of General Order No. 3 by Union Army General Gordon Granger on June 19, 1865, proclaiming freedom for enslaved people in Texas.
To all celebrating today may this always be a day of remembering and reflection on the freedom to live life and full of opportunities to make the world a better place.

It’s Father’s Day tomorrow and I miss this man every single day of my life. To be honest it sucks he is not here. The saying he’s in a better place is bull. The best place he could be is with his family enjoying life with us. I am not angry at him for not being here but I am angry that we didn’t get more time with him. You never get over the loss. Ever. Dad, I love you, and thank you for being my dad. I do wish we could have dinner together tomorrow around the family table. I miss those times.

It’s been seasonably hot where I live for the past couple of weeks. Our temperatures have been in the 90s. Today it decided to rain so the humidity is going to be rough. I do wish things would cool down a bit
