The second week of Advent is the message of peace. The understanding of the word “peace” is limited to worldly peace – the absence of war or conflict. But the word peace – as proclaimed by the angels to the shepherds at the birth of Jesus – has a much more spiritual significance. Happy Advent to all celebrating.
Today begins the season of Advent which is celebrated by many in the Christian world as the prelude to the season of Christmas. This is an Advent wreath with four Advent candles that are lit on the four Sundays before Christmas and the Christ candle which is lit on Christmas Eve. I pray for a good Advent season to all who celebrate and may this be a time of mindful waiting and reflection.
Today is the fourth Sunday Of Advent and First Day Of Hanukkah. Lots of candle power for the faithful today. Happy Hanukkah to my Jewish friends.
Today is the first Sunday Of Advent in many places in the Christian Tradition. I am serving in worship at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church today. The road to Christmas has begun for real. Have a great Sunday everyone.
The fourth Sunday of Advent is about Love. Remember to love your family, friends and neighbors during the season and going into the new year.
The third candle of the Advent wreath represents Gaudete/Rejoice. May this be a time to rejoice in the season. Grace and peace to all.
