Veterans Day and Remembrance Day – Honoring Those Who Served And Sacrificed

Today, veterans who have served in the armed forces of the United States and the Commonwealth of Nations are being remembered and honored for service and sacrifice. For any man or woman who wore a uniform of service, may you always feel the gratitude of your fellow citizens. Your sacrifice means a lot. Thank you for giving your all.

Freedom Means Love Is Love

To all my friends in loving same-sex marriages, I want you to know I support your rights as human beings in America to have life, liberty, and happiness.

It’s time for people like Kim Davis to leave the LGBTQIA community alone. Stop putting them through hell. Mind your own damn business. Freedom should mean that love is indeed love.

It’s been 10 years since Obergefell v. Hodges. Too many couples have established marriages filled with all the things that straight couples have, including homes, children, and most importantly family. I feel the fight isn’t over, though, vigilance is a must.

Daily Prompt – Podcasts

What podcasts are you listening to?

Most of the podcasts I listen too are there to help me sleep or just to weird out a little. Sometimes a podcast can do both.

If I want to sleep, it’s Nothing Much Happens from Wellness Loud or Get Sleepy from Slumber Studios.

If I want to weird out, it’s the classic Welcome To Night Vale from Night Vale Press. I have discovered a new to me podcast that has a Night Vale feel called Nowhere, On Air by Jesse Syratt.

I also like New Heights with Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce.

Quote Of The Day

Thought Of The Day 11022025

To help us cope with the insanity of the present, we need Christmas movies, nostalgia, brain candy, and pop culture to help us make it through.

I will be posting more about all these things in the days ahead. We need some aid and comfort in these days.

Granted, we can’t bury our heads in the sand, but we need diversion.

November is Native American Heritage Month

In August, we went to Montana to visit family who live on the Flathead Reservation of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes. The Pend d’Oreilles also call this land their home. It heightened my awareness of the Native American culture and contributions to the nation. November is Native American Heritage Month. It is a right and just thing to recognize this special time of recognizing and celebrating the ancient and proud peoples that called this land home well before Europeans. They have sacrificed much past and present, and their history is an important part of world history.
