Today was the first Sunday of Advent in our new church and I took a few picture to capture the experience of the day. It’s going to be great season leading up to Christmas. We are glad to be at St. Peter’s Episcopal in Chattanooga.
Today was Small Business Saturday, a day set aside to promote small businesses in the midst of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. American Express is championing this effort to help independent retailers have a big impact on the economy during the holiday shopping season. We did our part today to help the economy and to put some money into the til of some of our favorite businesses on the North Shore of Chattanooga.
Each year our electric and fiber optic utility company sets up a window display for the holidays. They are different each year. This year’s ensemble features children having fun in various vignettes. Also there is a special display honoring the service of those in our community who have served in the military. There is a winter wonderland happening here.
Happy Black Friday good people. Today is the big day of deals and steals (well don’t steal anything that would get you in trouble). People were lined up at the malls and the big box stores to shop kind of like the “Hunger Games” or something like that. If you are one of those braving the elements and your fellow bargain hunters I salute you. God have mercy. Have a great day. May the odds be ever in your favor!
This movie is always the first Christmas movie we watch each year. It isn’t the holidays without this flick. Chevy Chase is epic in this classic family movie. Johnny Galecki from “The Big Bang Theory” plays Rusty in this seasonal favorite.
