Throwback Thursday – Sad Demolitions

There have been two buildings that have been a part of my life for many decades. One is an old burger and shake shop and another is an old dry cleaner business. Both buildings I have driven by daily for years. This week, both buildings have been torn down. Granted, they had seen better days, but still, there was a comfort in seeing something not changing buildings hanging on.

This is the Dairy Gold, It was demolished this week.

Now there is much change happening all around, and I find myself to be highly sentimental and a little sad because of it. The Dairy Gold in the picture above is where my wife and I had our first date. It closed many years ago and was a place where a glass artist set up shop.

I will remember both buildings with great fondness. Farewell Dairy Gold building. Farewell Dry Cleaner Building.

Personal Note: I plan a post on me being a highly sentimental person soon.

The Vault Is All That’s Left Behind

This is the site of a bank building that has been demolished to make way for a car wash. What is left behind is the bank’s vault which will take some more work to bring down. Lots of buildings are being demolished around here for new stuff to be built. Life is about progress and changes these days.
