This is how American kids prepared for trick or treating back in 1977. Much remains the same but much has changed over the years.
Tomorrow is Halloween and I have some posts lined up to celebrate the day including some videos, images, text and the like. There will be some Instagram pix from work showing how grownups do the holiday. Come back tomorrow for the fun and haunts.
Happy National Dog Day! August 26 is set aside to honor dogs across the nation. Let us celebrate these loyal members of our families who make our lives better. There are also dogs who serve our communities through the police, fire and guide dogs. We owe much to the dogs in our world.
This post is in honor of Cody our Lab-mix and in memory of Mikey our Cock-a-Poo. We love both our boys very much.
(Please DO NOT Reblog, Thank You)
I salute those who embody the spirit of America by doing things to make life better for everyone. To my fellow Americans who follow the beat of a different drummer you rock. We are made greater by the nerds and geeks and peacemakers who aren’t afraid to be themselves.
Our country is made stronger by diversity of race, creed, gender, orientation and thought. To my fellow geek/nerd-Americans your sacrifice of time, talent and treasure is very important and appreciated. May we help our country be the best it can be daily. Grace and peace to everyone this 4th of July.
Happy Independence Day. Let true freedom ring for ALL to hear and feel and to realize.
Earth Day is an annual event, celebrated on April 22, on which day events worldwide are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. (From Wikipedia).
Take care of our Mother Earth and it will take care of us. Recycle, reuse, replenish, restore. Being green is a good thing for everyone.
Almighty God, we pray you graciously to behold this your family, for whom our Lord Jesus Christ was willing to be betrayed, and given into the hands of sinners, and to suffer death upon the cross; who now lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen….The Collect For Good Friday of The Episcopal Church.
The message of Good Friday is good winning the day. Evil put in it’s place. It’s about sacrifice, love and grace. I think the message of this day is about a humility and heroism embodied by a man who showed by example how to live in the best way possible. I think Jesus is a superhero who never wore a cape but stood up for all people.
Wasn’t it like Halloween yesterday or something. Christmas came quick. Now it’s 2016, that came at us fast. Where in the heck did time go? Wobbly wobbly, timey wimey I suppose. Next thing you know it will be Lent and Easter.
