Celebrating Palm Sunday #PalmSunday #Episcopal

Today is Palm Sunday which is the beginning of Holy Week for many in the Christian tradition. It’s a week of chaos and beauty and faith. The journey to Easter is almost finished.

He Came Into The World

Jesus came into the world to give us a life built on hope, love, grace, peace, mercy, inclusion, generosity. Those are the qualities I hope to reflect. From that perspective hatred, divide, exclusion, fear, greed, violence and injustice are not holy and not things he found favor in. To me our world needs an abundance of the good wile setting aside the bad. Raise up community and to bring people together. Anything less is not accepable. Everyone needs the feeling of being in a place where they feel

Good Friday Remembered, Jesus Came To Make The World Better #goodfriday

Today is Good Friday, the Friday before Easter Sunday, on which the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ is commemorated in the Christian Church. It is traditionally a day of fasting and penance.

On this day I am remembering the sacrifice that Jesus made for humanity. One embraced by many. To give ones life for the cause of love is a noble one. Today I remember that act. Jesus did so much in a short amount of time that made people whole and brought people together. He was a carpenter so he built community and offered justice to the oppressed. To those who followed him he gave them a life of opportunity to do amazing things. May all of us find ways to emulate the works Jesus in our own way.

Transfigured On The Mountain For Life Down In The Valley

When you have a mountain top experience and you see something change before your eyes it can be a moving spiritual experience. Transformation or transfiguration is something that blows your mind in such a way that you kind of bask in the light that shines from it all.

The Transfiguration of Jesus is an event reported in the New Testament when Jesus is transfigured and becomes radiant in glory upon a mountain. In many Christian traditions this event is celebrated yearly as a feast day.

Encountering the divine in such a way adds comfort, peace and a desire to rest there. However that is not where life is meant to be lived. You have to take the experience of the mountain to sustain you and keep you through the dark times in the valley below.

No matter your faith there are moments and places that give you comfort and renewal. Celebrate those times when you find yourself transformed a little and may you find comfort to get you through life.

All You Need Is Love, Neighbors and Self

Love your neighbor as yourself, all you need is love….well Jesus and the Beatles get that right.

Simply…love.
