Positivity, It’s Hard As Hell To Be That All The Time

I try to be a positive person in life but there is no way to be that all the time. What we see in the news can really bring you down. You can’t always ignore it either because your friends and your social network are talking about it. Then there are situations you experience in person which impact you in a profound way. Putting a smile on your face can be a challenge. All the bad news in the world can really bring you down and make you question life. Being a beacon of positivity can make one weary and tired. Maybe it’s OK to be a little vulnerable and to be negative every once and awhile. Its hard as hell sometimes and that is OK. Bah!

Rambling About Changes

Everything changes, it’s a fact of life and technology. We all have things that come along that are different and new. Some of us can handle transitions better than others. Getting used to things that are unfamiliar is a real challenge for many. Being open minded can help us adjust to things that come along in life. Nothing remains the same for too long. An idea, a revolution, a communal desire to see change can make some uncomfortable which presents a whole other set of issues. The one thing we have to do in all of life is to keep our cool and hopefully have an open mind to doing something we aren’t used to doing.

So if you are going through a lot of change, know others have been down the same road as you. It will be alright. Have faith in your own abilities to adapt to the new. We all have changes ahead that we have to cope with. Hang in there good people, things will be alright…have some faith

A Ramble About Calling Me “Bud”

I have been in a couple of retail environments lately where male retail assistants have called me “bud” because they don’t know my name. Now I know I live in the south and for some it just comes naturally but for some reason when they call me “bud” it irks me. My grandmother called me “bud” on occasion but that’s my grandmother, she could call me whatever she liked, she earned that right. In a retail environment I would rather be called “sir” not that I am snobby but to me it makes sense to address strangers as sir and to be a little more formal. Perhaps it’s a generational as well as a cultural thing but I think the word “bud” is for a buddy or someone you know.

Also I hate the term “big guy”, yes I know I am a larger sized person but that one also makes me cringe. If you know me call me Tony or T-Bird, either is fine but if you don’t know me or any other person, start off with “sir” it’s a matter of respect that will be returned in kind.

Rumors of life and death

On social media it’s a good practice to check thoroughly the sources when you hear of matters of life and death. Spreading rumors and false info can be damaging. Social media can spread false information faster than ever before  In matters of the demise of people, especially those you know be sure about the information you are getting. Life is too short to shorten the life of anyone based on bad or incomplete info
