Wicked Was Epically Awesome! (Non Spoilery Review)

Today the missus and I went to see the new hit movie “Wicked” which is a story based upon what happened before “The Wizard of Oz”. The performances by Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande were other-worldly. This was definitely fan service to those theatre kids who consider this a holy work of art.

If you have any knowledge of the stage show you know what to expect but in cinema format, they can use special effects to advance the storytelling and make everything so much bigger.

The supporting cast was amazing and featured names you know like Academy Award Winner Michelle Yeoh with Jeff Goldblum, Bowen Yang, and Peter Dinklage.

The music was stellar. Grande and Erivo know how to bring big vocal performances to make the movie soar to new heights. It’s spiritual, ethereal, and heartwarming. They honor the legacy of the performances of stage performers Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel who made the roles iconic.

I came away inspired, and enlightened. The movie made me think and I hope it will make you think and feel too. See it on the big screen, it’s the best way to experience it. There is lots of action so there is something for everyone.

This is an important movie. It tells a great story that speaks to our times today. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

The Downton Abbey Movie Trailer Is Out!!!!

Be still my beating heart. This movie is a must see for any Downton Abbey fan! I’m so there for this royal visit.

Cinderella…Have Courage and Be Kind!

Cinderella-2015We saw Cinderella yesterday for our anniversary date and we enjoyed it as much as our Italian food lunch. Lilly James who you know from “Downton Abbey” was great as the title character. She was sweet, lovely and full of heart. The movie was indeed a fairy tale brought to life with a great cast of mostly British talent who you know from a lot of things.

One thing I liked was how positive the story was and how it encourages everyone to have courage and to be kind, two things we all need to do more of. Helena Bonham Carter was a great Fairy Godmother while Cate Blanchett was a superb evil step-mother. It’s one movie to have in ones collection when it comes on home video.
