The Blair Witch Project is a spooky season favorite of ours. This movie is about the story of three student documentary filmmakers who are shooting a film on the Blair Witch of Maryland. Creepy stuff happens in the woods as they shoot footage and they all disappear. This is spooky, mysterious, and psychologically scary as hell.
We are watching the greatest movie ever about superheroes who just want to be a superhero or something like that. Deadpool and Wolverine is the feel-good indie art film we need right now. It’s full of delicious violence and language. This movie is truly a family-friendly tour de force.
Tonight we are doing a spooky season movie doubleheader.
This is a modern classic Halloween movie. Tim Burton and Danny Elfman are spooky geniuses with a great story in this animated feast for the eyes.
The Worst Witch is like the Harry Potter movies on a strict budget; all the students are girls. Fairuza Balk, Diana Rigg, and Charlotte Rae with Tim Curry star in this cheesy spooky season treat.
Our rewatch of the Twilight movie saga brings us to Eclipse where we see the past and present stories of the Vampire and Werewolf communities. A love/relationship triangle is developing with Bella, Edward, and Jacob. I think of this installment as laying the groundwork for the future. This movie also shows how some of the Cullens were turned into vampires. Also, we see an evil coven of vampires that are causing havoc and lead to the vampires and werewolves uniting to fight back.
Our rewatch of the Twilight movies continues with the second installment “New Moon”. Edward Cullen leaves Forks causing Bella Swan to go into a deep depression to seek the comfort and friendship of Jacob Black. We learn more about the Black’s and the Vampire royalty in Italy. Also, we see Jacob’s chiseled physique as its own character.
We are re-watching the Twilight movies for fun. I like the story and the mythos. Stories of vampires and werewolves have been with us for years. This movie put the town of Forks, Washington on the map. These movies were a big part of the day’s popular culture and made stars of author Stephenie Meyers and actors Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner. Remember Team Jacob and Team Edward, which side were you on?
