And these children that you spit on

As they try to change their worlds
Are immune to your consultations
They’re quite aware of what they’re goin’ through

Brats – The Story Of The “Brat Pack”
In the 1980s, a group of young actors collectively known as the “Brat Pack” starred in movies about the lives of young adults of the era. Emilio Estevez, Anthony Michael Hall, Rob Lowe, Andrew McCarthy, Demi Moore, Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy, and Mare Winningham were icons of my generation.
Andrew McCarthy made a documentary film that is streaming on Hulu about the “Brat Pack” called “Brats” where he did interviews with some members of the group and others who were adjacent and could speak to the events of the day. McCarthy does a great job of connecting the dots culturally and historically of this special era in the movies.
If you are a member of Generation X then you must see this movie. It will give you feels and remind you of a great time in entertainment and history. Andrew McCarthy did a great job on this. I also recommend it to anyone interested in cultural pop history.

Finding A New Daily Radio Station
I might have mentioned that my favorite local radio station has gone off the air because they were sold recently. This saddens me because this station is one I have listened to daily for years and we grew to like the morning and afternoon personalities that got us to work and home each day. Its format was the hits of the 70s through the 90s so that was the perfect mix.
So this leaves us with a dilemma to find another daily radio station to listen to. This morning we heard some hits from the 2000s including Taylor Swift, and other current chart toppers. I do like some of the artists that are creating the soundtrack for this generation but it is going to be hard to replace that station called Big FM 106.9.
We will find a new station with some of the best of the old with some of the new. Music can help set the tone of the day. Like anything you have to give it a chance and some time. I can say I was raised in part on local radio.
The Tale of Taylor and Travis
Taylor Swift is a wildly successful musical artist, and Travis Kelce is a very successful football player. Rumor has it they are a couple, which is so storybook. Sounds like Taylor could have written a song about that.
She shows up to support him at his games; not everyone likes that. I think that is ridiculous. It’s great to see couples like that. They are clearly fond of one another and want to celebrate successes and failures that come along the way.
Not everyone likes that she is so present at his games. People say horrible things about her, and that is stupid. Her success triggers some people, and their new relationship is being tested by some people who are not kind and hate how successful she is. There is a vile amount of misogyny going on here, and that is just not right.
I wish them nothing but happiness. Am I a “Swiftie”? No. But she is a cultural phenom like Elvis, The Beatles and Michael Jackson. She sells out stadiums like the one Travis Kelce plays in. I like her music. She is a champion, just like the Kansas City Chiefs.
I just hate seeing two people who are about doing good things and making people happy be trashed. They didn’t ask for it. So far, they are setting an example for the young girls that are her biggest fans. To conclude, I hope they will find peace, success, and happiness. We could all use that in this world today.
Something About Musicals
If you hear music coming out of nowhere, sing to it because it’s fun and you are probably hallucinating. You know just like in those musicals you like.
