Tunes Tuesday – Bon Jovi – Livin’ On A Prayer

This song tells a story of a couple who are going through tough times. I think the central message of living on a prayer is what many experience as daily life. Prayer and persistence through trials can make the difference. Bon Jovi released this in 1986 and he sounds as good today as he did back then.

Wayback Wednesday – Tears For Fears – Shout

Some days call for a song that can speak to the frustrations of life. Sometimes you just need to shout. This is from Tears for Fears 1985 album Songs from the Big Chair.

If you need to shout good people then just shout.

#TBT Throwback Thursday – Billy Joel – Big Shot

From YouTube – In 1978, Billy Joel released his album 52nd Street, which won two Grammy Awards for ‘Album of the Year’ and ‘Best Male Pop Vocal Performance’. Watch the official music video for ‘Big Shot’, which became a Top 20 hit on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

I heard this song this morning on the radio on my way into work and it got me going. Billy Joel is one of the great American rock stars. His sound is distinctive and very New York.

Alisan Porter, Winner of Season 10 of The Voice @NBCTheVoice

Alisan Porter had a interesting journey to winning The Voice. She played Curly Sue in the movie by the same name. She was also on Star Search as a kid. Now she wins the American version of The Voice. Her vocal range can go from powerful to subtle. I can see why she won this. Her coach Christina Aguilera became the first woman coach to win too. Congratulations Alisan.

The Voice Finale Is Tonight! @NBCTheVoice

Tonight the 10th season of NBC’s The Voice concludes with a two hour spectacular and the crowning of The Voice. It’s been a great season. I am pulling for Laith or Alisan.
