LOS ANGELES (AP) — A family spokeswoman says that “Everybody Loves Raymond” star Doris Roberts has died. She was 90. Spokeswoman Janet Daily said Monday that Roberts died overnight in her sleep in Los Angeles. Daily was told of the death by Roberts’ son, Michael Cannata. This morning explosions rocked the city of Brussels, Belgium injuring and killing many. News reports say that the airport and a subway station were sites of explosions. There is a possible terror connection but details are still coming in. Keep those people in your thoughts and prayers throughout the day. Hope for peace and justice in this situation. God be with them in the chaos.

I am committed to observing a weekend free of political discussion on my blog and social media. This would be start at sun down on Friday. There’s been too much of it this week and a break from it all would be nice. So no talk of elections or candidates or anything else regarding the race for The White House on Saturday or Sunday. If something serious happens then maybe a blurb, but otherwise politics is off the table. Are you with me? Let’s do this.
Are things perfect in this union, no. Are they as horrible as some would say no. There is a new normal and we all have to live in it. The good old days are not coming back no matter how some will try to turn back the clock. Many in my country would do well to be happy with what they have and be grateful for the blessings they have. We still live in a world with poverty and war so perhaps it isn’t too bad in the USA. Unfortunately the United State of Affairs is at best fractured and factional and I am not sure about the future.
