Thought Of The Day

Being told no is a hard thing when you hear it more than being told yes.

The Cost Of Saying “No” Too Many Times

You can only say “no” too many times before people stop asking you to be a part of something. I understand too well that saying “yes” too many times can deplete your mind, body and soul. Saying “no” frequently means giving up possible opportunities that can change your life and the lives of others.

The solution could be prioritizing ones life so that there can be some balance but even then its easy to decline instead of accept. Professionally you have to say yes every now and then to indicate you still have interest in growth and advancement in your chosen field. Personally it means giving value to relationships of family and friends that you want to be a part of their lives.  Just saying “no” just to say “no” out of habit can be a problem for you down the road.

It takes courage either way to say yes and to say no. You just have to figure out what means more to you.

No/Yes

Never say no so much that you forget that yes is an option. Good opportunities await.

No, There is Power In That Small Word

No, is a complete sentence. It’s also a powerful word I find difficult to say. No is a small word with big impact. It can mean letting someone down. No means no but it also means having control in your life. No can be an habitual thing where you aren’t willing to do anything for anyone. As a people pleaser I find it hard to say no because I am wanting to do everything for everyone. Saying no to anyone is not always in my nature. In the world of sales there is a unique challenge to turn a no into a yes. That requires technique and communication and getting people to talk themselves into something they have said no to previously. Much of this is about conflict resolution and taking people seriously. Sometimes it’s just about your preferences and doing what you want to do.
