
This goes out to everywhere it’s hot. Especially the Pacific northwest and Canadian southwest where you good people aren’t used to temperatures like you are experiencing. Stay cool by any means necessary and be safe.
It’s been an emotional day. Tears have been shed. I miss my dad on days like this.

It’s been a long time since I have worn an alb in service as a Lay Eucharistic Minister at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. Today it felt great to be back in action helping my priest and deacon serve communion to all at church this morning.

Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. From its Galveston, Texas origin in 1865, the observance of June 19th as the African American Emancipation Day has spread across the United States and beyond.
Now it’s a national holiday in the United States. Let this be a time for African-Americans who were oppressed and enslaved throughout time celebrate. The struggle for freedom in many places is still real and the fight continues.
