Friday @ The Movies – Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them

After work we are headed to the Majestic Theatre in downtown Chattanooga to see Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. It’s going to be a visual treat and full of magic. This film is from the Harry Potter universe and there will be lots of familiar things. I will have a review for you this weekend.

Daily Prompt: Mythical #wordpressdotcom

In this world of chaos perhaps we need to have an imagination to help us cope with it. Myths and legends help us to deal with the reality of true existence. Some mythical tales can inspire and give something for us to aspire to. Stories of amazing things and creatures from a different age can take us to a different place where the amazing is the rule rather than the exception. I think myths and legends are important to the culture of a place and a people. Mythical, magical creatures do exist and are real in your mind which is as real as anything.

Something About What Makes A Blogger, Numbers Don’t Tell The Whole Story #wordpressdotcom

keep-calm-and-read-my-blog-39Blogging is a noun and a verb. It is something you do and is something you are. Your number of followers do not determine your value as a blogger because I think the quality of your connections is what matters most. Some bloggers have a large following while others have a few friends and neighbors tagging along. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t have thousands of people visiting daily. A blog that comes from the heart will tell a great story and will bring people along organically. Don’t worry about your stats especially if you are an amateur. It’s good to celebrate milestones of people following but don’t get hung up on that. Every blog has a place in cyberspace.

No two bloggers are exactly alike. Their mission and purpose are determined by the writer and curator. I think individuality matters. Be yourself within your blog and create posts in your own way. Be sure your blog looks alive and tells the reader something about yourself.

As a person who runs a personal blog I am not out to be wildly popular but to share my message with all who will hear it and will connect with me. Being happy with what you have and be proud of your blog.

The one thing I always say is keep on blogging!

Facebook Break Update

keep-calm-fbI am into day 3 of my Facebook break and it seems to be going well. When you have multiple gadgets you have to log out of Facebook on each of them which can be a pain. The only thing I am connected to there is FB Messenger which I do use to PM friends who I don’t have other ways of doing so.

To tell you the truth, I am not missing it as much as I thought I might. As far as online connections WordPress.com, Twitter, Instagram and to a much lesser extent Tumblr. There are other things that will keep me busy. Facebook can be a bit of a time suck and I am realizing that now. Yes I am tempted to go back, who wouldn’t be. After this election season everyone needs a break. I think keeping out of it is a good thing for personal reasons. We shall see how long it lasts. My goal is one day at a time with a thought of going back on maybe after Thanksgiving.

It’s Monday Again

Hey kids, It’s Monday. Now is the time where we shout with glee right. My friends and fellow bloggers have a swell day. Grace and peace you guys!
