This song from 1988 (the year I graduated from High School) still resonates with me because of its message and ferocity. The group knows how to tell a story about people who have become a cult of personality.
Rambling About Being Yourself
There’s nothing wrong with living outside the mainstream and coloring outside the line. I am a proud black sheep of sorts. However there is a price you pay for it because some folks don’t want to understand you or your point of view or your choices. It’s a part of marching to the beat of your own drummer. Be yourself, whoever that might be.
Pokémon Go
So, tonight we went with friends to play the game that’s sweeping the world, Pokémon Go. It’s a fascinating game that blends augmented reality and getting you out of your house to encounter actual reality. I will share more later but know I walked 3 miles this evening and I’m tired but it’s a good tired spent with some new friends and good people.
Maybe Change Will Come, Maybe
When there is so much tragedy there comes a time when you become numb to it all. It’s just another event that unfortunately has changed the lives of people on both sides. One would think you would like to change the tone, change what is happening, change the future by changing the present. We allow things to happen because the changing part makes some uncomfortable and they don’t want to sacrifice anything. Yeah we all want life, liberty and happiness but what are we willing to give to get it. I hope one day people will stop killing other people for sport or because someone brainwashed them into doing it. Maybe change will come, maybe.
