Today Is Spirit Day, I’m Against LGBTQ Bullying

SpiritDay is the world’s most visible anti-bullying movement inspiring LGBTQ youth, especially transgender and nonbinary youth to live their lives in their truth and authenticity. As a person of faith I believe that LGBTQ people are made in God’s image and are worthy of unconditional love and safety.

RIP Microsoft Windows 10

Today is the end of life for the Microsoft Windows 10 operating system. After today there will no longer be updates sent out unless you buy extended service programs.

Upgrades to Windows 11 are available to compatible computers.

Windows 10 Ends On October 14, 2025

Those who don’t have machines that will run Windows 11 will have to buy a new computer or use open source operating systems like Linux Mint to keep their systems from becoming unusable. I do recommend Linux for those with some experience. Thank you Windows 10 for your service.

Happy Thanksgiving Canada

To one of my favorite countries in the world, Canada, I wish you a very happy Thanksgiving celebration. Whether you are celebrating this weekend or on Monday, may it be a time of coming together as families and as a nation. As you celebrate, honor and remember the First Nations who were on the land before. Canada, all good things that come from being a strong and free nation.

Quote Of The Day

You never lose by being kind. You only lose when you forget to be.

Me, A Grown Up?

Daily writing prompt
When was the first time you really felt like a grown up (if ever)?

I am fifty-six years old, and some days I feel every year of it. My personality is like that of a big kid in many ways. However, life has called upon me to have situational maturity in times when needed.

I think getting married, buying a house, paying bills, going to the doctor are times when you have to put on your big boy pants on. Also, being burned out of your home and helping walk a parent through their death is super important.

So to answer the question, there have been many times along with that first time which I can’t pinpoint as to being a grown up. Being grown up can suck, I must say.

Go SKC Bison!

It’s finally cool enough for me to wear my Salish Kootenai College long sleeve shirt. I picked this up from the SKC college bookstore in Pablo, Montana when I was there in August visiting family. I’m proud to wear it and offer support to the native/indigenous community in the area. GO BISON!
