Today is the third Sunday of Advent – Known as “Gaudete,” (rejoice) Sunday, the pink candle in the Advent Wreath is a reminder of the explosive power of the season. To all who celebrate be sure to rejoice in the season.
We are all struggling with something. No need in adding to someone’s burdens. Everyone needs a break and a little encouragement to get through it all.

Today is the second Sunday of Advent. Today’s theme is Peace. In this world we live in, we need peace of spirit, body, and mind. It is also very much needed in our communities where we face violence and hatred. So for the first two Sundays of Advent, there is hope and peace. Let there be peace on Earth and let it begin with me.

Tonight is a Christmas-themed movie double-header. The always funny classic “National Lampoons Christmas Vacation” and the iconic and madcap “Elf”. Both are terrific movies that tell stories about some of the best parts of the holidays.

It’s that time of year again. Black Friday is a huge day for shopping for the holidays. I’m sure there are people who get up real early to get the best deals. To those bargain hunters may the odds be ever in your favor.
In America, it’s Thanksgiving Day. It’s a time to be with family and friends. It’s also a day for food and football. It is a day of celebration. With all that said, I am thankful for what I have. On this feast day, it’s good to remember that this day isn’t so good for some of us. For some, it’s a day when grief is still very fresh in their hearts and minds. No matter where or how you observe may this be a day of peace and love. Give thanks.
