I am not an expert on taxes but if a tax plan doesn’t pay for itself or at least comes out balanced then perhaps it shouldn’t be forced upon the people who will have to pay for it. Here’s a hint, its not the billionaires or the super millionaires, it will be people who are of middle class and limited means. I am not certain anyone in Washington knows what they are doing.
I did call my senators to express my opinion and I hope it helps to persuade them but I am not holding my breath since they are a part of the problem.
Today is the deadline to file ones federal income tax in the United States. Ours has been done for about a week. Many people like me will wait til the very last minute especially if you owe. Refunds are good though. If you haven’t filed you have until before midnight to get it in to the IRS.
In life, two things are certain, death and taxes. Neither are fun though.
Today is the day when federal income tax returns are due to the government. Normally tax day is the 15th but this year it is on the 18th due to a holiday. We had to pay some this year which is better than in years past when we paid a lot. Instead of e-filing this year I put the return in the mail. Sometimes old school is best. It will be interesting to see how many last minute filers there will be this year. It’s nice to have had a couple extra days to get it done. Two constants in life…death and taxes.
My college roommate said on Facebook that its a double whammy today…its tax day and its raining here in east Tennessee. Well not every day can be sunshine, puppies and happiness, although it would be great if it were. Today I am at work, doing good things for myself and for others so I guess there is a silver lining behind the rain clouds. Let us all have the best day possible given the circumstances of life. Have courage and be kind as Cinderella said in the most recent movie of the same name. I like that quote very much.
My duty to my country is finished because today, one day before the deadline I filed our 2014 income taxes. The IRS is a necessary evil and no one loves to pay them but we have to. For so many years we have had to pay until the last few years. Yes its good to get this yearly ritual done but I can’t just do it early but its put off until almost the last minute. Fortunately we are getting a refund this year and that is a relief.
After reviewing what I had put into the tax program I realized I didn’t click something I needed to so when I did we went from owing to being owed. There is something about double checking. It is a good feeling to be getting something back.
