It’s Monday Already? Where Did The Weekend Go?

Seriously, where did the weekend go? I know it’s gotta be Monday but wow, it was just no time ago when I was cooking breakfast on Saturday morning. Time moves too fast. Have the best day possible good people.

Human Colors, Human Rights

I love this. No matter our skin color we should all have equal rights. There is no logical or moral reason that this shouldn’t happen.

Thought Of The Day – Government Shutdown

At midnight tonight in the United States, the government will shut down. That means government workers will go without a paycheck until Congress can devise a plan to keep things running again. People who hate government like to be in government, which doesn’t make sense.

There is plenty of blame to go around however, that is not something I want to get into here. I just want to say that the government does many things from defense to road construction and more. People need to get paid for their work so they can pay their mortgage/rent, food, medicine, and other expenses. That should be the focus right now.

Let’s hope that whatever the shutdown looks like it won’t last for too long. People should matter more here and then take care of the things that make life a little easier when we all pitch in to make it happen.

Remembering Sir Michael Gambon

Sir Micheal Gambon was not the original Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter movies However, he did the job very well when called upon to replace the original Dumbledore, Richard Harris when he passed away. Gambon died on September 27th. He was also on Doctor Who during the Matt Smith era for one of their Christmas specials among many other roles on stage and screen. Sir Michael, rest in power. May you find magic in the heavens.

Six Word Story

I am a judgy jerk today.

Sunday Reflection – Haves and Have-Nots

Simply said, there are haves and have-nots in the world. Each has a place and space in the world. Their impact on the lives of people is very personal and very communal.

For have-nots, it is a matter of survival day to day, while those who have seem to have more options in life. It’s also a matter of self-esteem and worth in both situations.

Haves and have-nots can share the same space, or they will find themselves separated by attitudes beyond their control. Interestingly, people can sometimes find themselves straddling the line between the two. Economics and culture can play a big role in every part of life.

No matter what, everyone needs to know they are valued and loved. The struggle is real and we must realize that. Everyone is a paycheck away from being on either side of the fence.
