A fellow blogger is making the move to WordPress from Google’s Blogger service. The blogger said that lots of people are doing that and that there seemed to be some issues with the function of the platform. In looking at Blogger’s twitter account I discovered that there hasn’t been a new post since May whereas WordPress posted an article on October 21. That isn’t good or is it?
I think what goes on behind the scenes is important when choosing a blogging platform. New features are important as long as they enhance functionality and improve workflow. Sensible changes can improve your experience and when the platform works the way it should you can focus on creating and connecting vs. always doing maintenance.
I didn’t post yesterday and It’s cool my blog gets views and visits. Maybe a break every now and then is good for folks to catch up. I am a prolific poster and some days I post 4-6 posts a day. Perhaps that is too much or should it matter to the reader. Interesting things to ponder about best practices for a blogger so that the reader isn’t overwhelmed.
Post something new today if you haven’t posted in weeks and weeks. It doesn’t have to be long. Go ye therefore and blog good people. Make your blog come alive.
Today I spent some time unpacking some stuff from the luggage of my heart and soul. I don’t know why I haven’t done this sooner. Journaling independent of one’s blog is a good way to get your thoughts out of your head and onto paper or pixels. Your experiences shape who you are and if they can help someone else then its a good thing. Now not everything has to or should be shared, everyone is entitled to keeping things close to home. You owe it to yourself to unpack things to get it off your shoulders.
Perhaps I need to do more exploring things rattling around in my head using a word processor vs. WordPress. A private stream of consciousness can help you organize your thoughts and to make sense of things that trouble your soul. Many of you do this already so this is old hat, for me this is a new thing I hope to do more of because I find writing stuff out can help me make more sense of it all.
In my almost 47 years I have made plenty of mistakes. Some more serious than others but they are still things I did intentionally or unintentionally depending on the situation. Being a human being I am not perfect and never will be. I sometimes make the same mistakes over and over again because I am crazy enough to hope for better outcomes the next time around. We all have a responsibility to own up to our mistakes because the wrong things we do have an impact on the people we know and love. Confession can help you deal with life’s mistakes. Never be so proud to say you are sorry and try, try, try not to do it again.
I believe in Heaven, Utopia, a divine kingdom of love and peace. There is a place where The Creator exists with creation and nature. God loves his children no matter who they are and who they love. Nature revealing it’s promise and majesty. There is a place of grace and mercy where all creatures great and small have belonging and purpose. Every person needs to feel that connection to something bigger than they are where they matter in every way. Is this place possible, I do believe so.
