Question Of The Day: How Far?

How far would you go to help someone? Across town, across the country, across the world? Some folks will go to another country to lend aid and comfort but won’t go across town when its needed.

So the question is How far would you go to help a friend, a neighbor, a stranger, your community.

  1. friend – good friends to the ends of the earth
a neighbor – Well they are in my town so I guess around town, I can wire money but there is little my presence would do to help where they farther than in town
a stranger – Help strangers are the women’s centers and crisis centers I work as a volunteer at. I always donate money to charities which help strangers. I have given strangers lunch or coffee, items like a blanket/sleeping bag and other such things.
my son – I’d move heaven and earth for

  2. I would do whatever I could to help anyone; family, friend or stranger. In fact, this tends to get me in trouble because most of my money goes to other people.

After seeing my mom homeless and then finding myself living out of three or different houses and my car at a time as a teen and young adult, I learned that there are times when it doesn’t really matter what you do, your fate is out of your control. When I see someone in need I always think of when my mom was at her lowest point and I do what I would have wanted someone to do for her.

Plus, I just really like how it feels to know that I’ve made someone happy or helped them in some way. It’s almost medicinal.

    Thanks for the great question!
