Today is my grandparent’s 71st wedding anniversary. Today is also their first anniversary since my grandmother passed away last September. Polly and Leon were from a small town in Georgia, they moved around for his work in the Navy and in broadcasting. Eventually his work led them to my hometown where they raised 3 awesome girls.
My grandparents are awesome people who showed what love is to be about. My life has been better because of them. She helped raise me and taught me many lessons of life that I still use today.
I am grateful to have my grandfather still with us but I miss my grandmother very much. Some days I miss hearing her voice. We will celebrate the life they had together and the love they still share even though she lives in heaven now. They are both gifts from God.

Tony, I have lost all my grandparents ( I only knew one grandfather) and my parents. My parents would have both been 91 this year.Thank you for re-sharing this beautiful love story and I am glad you still have your grandfather.
