To my younger followers does it bother you when a older person in your life offers you advice. It appears to me that younger people aren’t jazzed about their elders giving them helpful words of wisdom and guidance. What do you think?

I have a rule of thumb with advice: it’s given only in a case of eminent danger or when asked for. Now, it’s different with my kids, of course. But adults? I usually keep my thoughts to myself. Some lessons are better learned the hard way.

It is the era of millennials. They know everything. Only when a bus is about to hit them do we say look out.

Had to laugh at this yellow cat, millennials…. to me they are a soft generation by enlarge or they just cry too much for nothing really important in life.
Mr. Burguess, I thought this was a good question that you posted, hope more people get into the debate. A rational and peacefull one that is.

I think delivery is everything, as well as keeping in mind that their view matters as well. I’ve noticed a lot of kids get talking “at” instead of “with”. More respect and less power tripping has aided in many convos between the more and less seasoned people on this journey

If they ask, I give it freely. Otherwise I am content to let them live and learn.

It honestly depends on the individual for myself. I take my Grans advice to heart and follow it, but some of the other adults in my life. I tend to gloss over when they start giving me advice. Usually because it’s “I should just hate anyone who doesn’t agree with me” type of advice, lol

I usually only give advice when I’m asked to. I, too, hate unwanted advice. Well, meddling more like.
But when someone offers their help/advice and I can use it, I’m not too proud to accept. Whether or not they’re older or younger than me.

Depends on who is giving advice. If I need help I seek it. If it is unwanted and I seem annoyed perhaps it’s because I am a “Softy, Millennial, who knows it all.”(first few comments, giving them credit) I could say a lot about the generations above me, but I would never intentionally disrespect someone. The point is you need to read the situations, know the person and understand if they need advice or are just trying to vent. Sometimes all someone needs is to talk it out. It doesn’t matter how old, how young, or which generation.
