So, today is my one week without Facebook anniversary. I have been just fine without it. Sure stuff is going on there I wonder about but in reality, I am learning that I just don’t need to know what is going on with everyone all the time. Avoiding drama is good for one’s mental health. As I wrote about earlier there is a Fear Of Missing Out but as you go along that fear is less and less.
Perhaps Facebook has told us that you can’t live without it but I know a few folks who are doing just that and many of them are fellow bloggers. Facebook can be a strong influence in terms of what is posted there. I am just glad there is one less thing to worry about. Let’s see how long this lasts, maybe it can be something long-term. We shall see.
Mark Zuckerberg I don’t need you telling me what to do! 🙂
Honestly social media breaks are so healthy I try and have at least 4 days off social media(usually the weekend and my days off) and I feel so much better for it! I did a month off of social media last year and I am beginning to wonder why I ever logged back in but it is always that Fear of missing out!! I figure now though if there is anything truly important that my friends want me to know they will text or call or visit me to tell me!!! xx

I am still on Twitter and Instagram and neither drain me like Facebook does. Twitter I find to be a communication tool and a aid to my blogging. Which is interesting to see.

Best thing you can do every now and again is go offline and switch off from others soical media can be a powerful but also draining experience x

🙂 Hi, Tony. I deleted my Facebook account back in 2018 and I can proudly admit to you that I do not miss it!

I am still on Twitter and Instagram which are not quite as time sucking and more passive than FB.

🙂 Well, I do not expect you to give up all of your social media networks all at once.
Staying away from Facebook is indeed a good start!

Hi Tony, FB just recently changed their algorithm. I’m in charge of social media for my job I agree with you it can be so overwhelming some days. I try to personally not look at the personal stuff and stick to my companies page. Wonder why FB drains people so much? I love your idea of a break. Have a great weekend.

FB is like a moving target and it’s hard to keep up with it all.

Gosh you are right. Just when I think I have it figured out they change it. They really are in charge of what is shared and with whom. You have to follow their rules to get them to share your posts. 😦

Impressed by your blog🤩
It’s like people don’t usually think that they are living two lives; one that is real and the other is on social media.
I also wrote about it in my latest blog, so lemme know your thoughts on that.
