My Ongoing Facebook Exile – Should I Stay Away Or Keep Away?

I’ve been gone from Facebook for 7 weeks now. It’s been good for me I think. The question I have is should I keep away or return? What do you think? Yes this is not a scientific poll. Let me know in the comments.

  1. I dropped FB about 2 yrs ago? maybe a bit longer. IDK, I’ve never been a voyeur, I’ve always been more the anonymous world so it was a great decision to leave it be, for myself. If you are trying to promote anything it’s wise to have the online connections available to you. So think about the direction you foresee yourself in the near future and will it be beneficial to you on a different level?!?! I’m not on any social media & am glad for that change. Much Love my flowic friend…..do what’s right for you & your means in this world (Hugs)

  2. Personally, I enjoy Facebook but I know those for whom the sheer volume of posts is overwhelming. I enjoy your blog posts. I would think that would occupy your time, especially with a full-time job and family responsibilities. I agree with Laura B — follow your heart!

  3. Personally, I have to stay away. I find it both toxic and addicting. The people I know constantly troll for fights (a writer’s trait perhaps?), and while it irritates me, I must keep reading the threads and getting upset. The only solution for me is to give it up completely. And then there are the ads and privacy glitches…

Yet, some still enjoy it. It’s up to the individual. 🙂

  4. It’s been a couple of years since I left Facebook, and to be honest I’ve no regrets. After my first few weeks away from it I wrote myself a list of things I missed about it, and also a list of things I didn’t miss at all, and as the list of things I was really glad to be away from was much longer (and touched me much deeper emotionally) than the list of things I benefitted from by being on Facebook, I never went back 🙂

  5. Do you miss being on that platform would be the biggest question? If you don’t feel it’s been good for you, I say stay away a little longer and then you can reassess in a while. Since you feel good so far without it, you may never look back after time! I only use it professionally now and I have no regrets! I don’t know why, I felt it was worse than other social media platforms, but it was a great weight lifted off my shoulders!
