People who work in restaurants have it rough. They deserve full respect because their work is demanding and stressful. People aren’t always courteous or kind to these folks that are just trying to make a living.
Everyone deserves grace and patience who works in places that feeds and cares for us all. Tip well and give an encouraging word it might make someone’s day.
Absolutely. And people shouldn’t be jerks (like the two people from Texas who beat up a hostess at a NYC restaurant over vaccine proof).

We don’t tip in Australia, but we also pay our employees well. Although, with Uber eats, you can choose to tip or not, but Uber is from America, and they don’t pay their employees well.

I think employers need to pay their employees better. Earning a living should not be dependent on customer’s generosity. That’s one of those American quirks that still doesn’t quite make sense to me. If I have to pay their wages anyway, why not just bill everything into the food and make tips a nice bonus?

So true!
One of my few blogs is devoted mainly to praising deserving restaurant staff that I’m fortunate enough to meet.
