Anyone who has a dog knows that they have some very deep thoughts, that they have moods and emotions, they get their feelings hurt. It’s not a far reach to give them opinions and values and long-term desires.

They DO have long-term desires! My dog had a 18 year desire to git the cat! My sister’s dog had a 10 year desire to figure out what, if anything, was hidden on the refrigerator. These are long-term; longer term than most humans can muster!
