Yet Another iPhone For The Picking

So, Apple announced a new iPhone today (shouldn’t we be at 20 by now?), and as usual, there are new features, and it costs a lot of money. I must admit I am a long-time Android user, and we get made fun of for being Android users. So I sit here looking in from the outside.

I find it curious that Apple has to release something new every year. They do make a killing off those phones. For Apple, new phones each year are a business decision they have made with some research, and their customers spend a ton on upgrading. It would be interesting to see the collection of phones some users have gathered over the years.

I can upgrade to a newer phone every two years with my Android. I don’t feel like I am missing out on waiting a while longer. Yes, I know not every iPhone user will upgrade every year. But for those who upgrade, doesn’t the whole thing make upgrading your phone less of a special event?

I can say I am an Android guy living in what seems to be an iPhone world. And I won’t understand, and that is OK. The universe of Android phones does great things, just saying.

  1. For the record, you are not an Android guy living in an iPhone world. It’s actually the opposite! 70% of the world uses Android based phones. It’s primarily the United States that is fixated on iPhones. Google it — it’s been an on-going static forever. I’m an Android user, always have been. And I’ve never once thought twice about it. For me, it’s like a microwave or TV. I expect it to work. I don’t expect to have to buy one every year! Viva la Android!!! 😂

  2. Ok, from the iPhone side of things. I’m a longtime IT engineer with some 10 high-level certifications and yet with all that the Android phones still tend to flummox me. I have found the OS to vary so much between devices new/old and simply between different manufacturers (maybe not, but it seems like it). While the iPhone is also far from perfect I do find it much easier to navigate and do what I need. Apple pricing is insane and as a result, I only upgrade about every three years and then only because the battery life has grown to be so poor. All that said, I do find the new Android double-size phone to be interesting, but again relearning the interface seems daunting and I’m no longer the “spring chicken” I once was, lol. To each his own and very nice write-up my friend.
