Hi there, my name is Tony Burgess (my friends call me T-Bird) from Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA. I am a believer, bleeding heart, idealist, and blogger. I'm married to Laura the Soup Diva and a dog dad to Frankie, Cody, and Mikey. Daily I work for a blood bank recruiting donors. My blog is where I chronicle and curate the sacred, serious, and silly things in my life. I am a member of The Episcopal Church. Thank you for connecting with me. Grace, peace, and love!

Away For The Weekend, Hanging With Some Churchmen

I will be away at a men’s retreat sponsored by the Episcopal Churches of Tennessee. This is my second year going and I am ready to have some fun and to be spiritually renewed. Being in the company of these guys reminds me its good to be a guy who loves his God and his fellow-man. Being in a place where you can just relax and have a good time is important to filling your physical, emotional and spiritual tanks much like you do your car. Being taken care of even self-care is important.

Of course I will be sharing as I go along in the weekend. My phone will be with me and there is good cell service where I will be. Have a great weekend my friends. Grace and peace

My Social Justice and Political Posts

Thanks for your feedback on my most recent posts. As you may have noticed it has been very social justice and current events focused with good reason. This is my way of doing something to advance peace and justice to a world that needs it. As America is going through some tough times it’s people must come together and opposite hate and injustice wherever it presents itself. Action is what is called for, I’m trying to do my part.

In sharing my views I will remain respectful on a personal level but I’m going to speak my mind. Once again, thanks.

Life, Liberty and Happiness for ALL

I work with and have people of color who are friends. I am friends with LGBTQ people too. So I have a interest in their well being to have full access and rights of citizenship and to enjoy life, liberty and happiness. No one should live in fear because of hatred. In the twenty first century we are looking at repeating the history that did great harm to many. This is troubling and sad.
