People with voices want to be heard. Sometimes the issue is about listening. Noise can make it hard to be heard. When people speak they have a strong desire to be understood for comprehension for respect. Protesters want their message to get across to those who they hope will receive it. To be heard is to be loved and cared about. It’s always good to let those in your life know they are heard too.

Fifty Shades of Dork #fiftyshades
How come they don’t do a movie featuring dorks in a hyper unrealistic romantic folly? I am thinking they need to do something like “Fifty Shades of Dork” a drama featuring highly intelligent and socially awkward people who can’t seem to have a relationship that doesn’t involve handcuffs and ridiculous wealth. Maybe it will happen one day.
Perfect Peanut Butter Cookies
I love peanut butter and these cookies are easy to make and packed full of peanut butter goodness.
- 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon bakingpowder
- 1 teaspoon bakingsoda
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 sticks butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar + more for topping
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
Preheat oven to 375. Whisk first 5 ingredients together in large bowl. Stir or mix remaining ingredients together in medium bowl until fully combined. Add to large bowl and stir, mix, or incorporate with hands until proper consistency. Roll into balls of desired size, place on baking sheet or stone, and make criss-cross pattern with fork; sprinkle each with 1/2 pinch granulated sugar. Bake 10-12 minutes; cool on rack until able to handle. Makes 4-8 dozen.
#Twitter Working On Becoming A Safer Place
https://twitter.com/TwitterSafety/status/828968790494883840?s=09
Kudos to Twitter for taking steps to prevent abusive behavior and to keep its users safe. A safe online experience benefits us all. I’m hoping these actions will help everyone who uses Twitter as a prime tool for connecting socially.
To Those Of Other Faiths and Atheists
Everyone is welcome here who is a practicing believer of their faith and those who have chosen not to believe. I am a member of the Episcopal branch of the Jesus movement and in my faith tradition I am encouraged to love my neighbor as myself and that neighbor is someone who might be different from me and we are all trying to figure this thing called life out. People are people fundamentally and when people choose to believe they do so with fear and trembling and I could say the same for those who have chosen not to believe. However I have found that non-Christians and non-believers to be some of the best people who reflect what Jesus was talking about. Good Samaritans, good neighbors, good humanitarians. Perhaps there is more in common there than we think. So my Hindu, Buddhist, Shinto, Muslim, Jewish and Atheist friends you are all welcome here. Grace and peace to you all. Keep on rocking in the free world!
Persistence and Patience
Even though you don’t get a fast start in your work the more you plug away at it the results you want will be possible. You just have to believe in your team enough to weather the storms to to reach the shore or to win the game.
