Back To Real Life, Back To Reality

One week ago I got on a plane to go to Orlando, Florida. The week of my vacation has gone by very quickly and I wanted it to go slow. Tomorrow I go back to work and rejoin the real world. It is hard to get back to the regular routine but it’s a part of adulting. In the morning an alarm will get me up so that I can fight the rush hour traffic to get back to a job that pays the bills. Reality shall be served.

So as I get back at it tomorrow I will dream of the next vacation, whenever and wherever that might be.

Pollo Parma Rosa

We had this delicious dish tonight for dinner. After a week of eating out it’s nice to have a great home cooked meal.

The fancy-sounding name just means “chicken with parmesan blush sauce” (which happens to be my favorite type of sauce). This started with a Giada de Laurentis recipe and went pretty far off-book from there.

  • 1 lb boneless chicken breasts
  • 1 small onion, cut into short ribbons
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 3 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning mix
  • 1 1/2 to 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 16 oz your favorite type pasta
  • Olive oil, salt, and black pepper
Pound chicken breasts until 1/2″ thin; salt and pepper well. Coat bottom of skillet with oil and heat to medium-high. Brown chicken on one side; flip and cook other side until done through. Remove chicken to plate and set aside. Add more oil to pan and cook onions and garlic on same heat setting with more salt and pepper until soft; stir in…

Universal Orlando Resort – Dining Well! — The Soup Diva

Greetings, dear followers! T-Bird and I have just recently returned from our 3rd visit to Universal Orlando Resort in sunny central Florida. We were there in September 2015 to see the updates since our family vacation in 2001 (especially the Wizarding World of Harry Potter); and we discovered a wonderful hotel on site that we […]

A FedEx Express hub worker fell asleep in the loading area of the plane and ended up on an early-morning flight to Texas.

This is an extreme case of falling asleep on the job. You never know where you might end up.

Snapchat

snapcode-300x300I am thinking about caving and joining in on the Snapchat craze going around. Do any of you use it? What are your experiences with it? Seems like it’s a platform for everyone, however it’s funny when older folks start using something the younger set have been using for awhile the thing loses its cool factor. Input welcome.

Zootopia, A Great Modern Disney Flick

Ninety percent of the world is prey and 10 percent is predator at least that is what the movie Zootopia says about the world it exists in. I tend to say that is about what it is in the real world. Some of us are prey, some of us are predators. Can we live with each other? I don’t know but what I do know is that predators can make life hard for the weak and defenseless.

Zootopia is a delightful movie with a lot of social messages. It’s about opportunity, equality, cooperation, family, love and peace. The core of this movie is the dream of a female rabbit wanting to make the world a better place. I can dig that. Animals coexisting with one another in a place where the balance of life is a part of its utopia. This movie has a great cast and is very well done. I find it better than “Frozen” and “UP”.

On a personal note: After spending a few days in the Universal Studios ecosphere I felt like I betrayed them somehow.
