Hi there, my name is Tony Burgess (my friends call me T-Bird) from Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA. I am a believer, bleeding heart, idealist, and blogger. I'm married to Laura the Soup Diva and a dog dad to Frankie, Cody, and Mikey. Daily I work for a blood bank recruiting donors. Holiday Shrimp Spread

This is tasty, savory and easy to prepare. Good for crackers among other things. It’s great for holidays and other special occasions.

  • 2 4.5 oz cans baby shrimp
  • 8 oz Neufchatel (lowfat cream) cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp prepared horseradish
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (or 1/2 tsp garlic powder or paste)
  • 1/2 tsp Old Bay or your favorite seasoning for seafood
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives, minced fine (optional)

Stir all ingredients together until well blended. Spoon into container(s), cover, and refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve with semi-sturdy crackers like Ritz, Town House, or Triscuit. (You can substitute 1/4 of cocktail sauce for the ketchup and horseradish if you have it.)

I “adopted and adapted” this recipe from a former coworker, and it has become one of my holiday party staples. Positive Blogging About Me

I am going to start blogging about myself in a positive light. This comes as a recommendation from a valued friend. How can I go about it without sounding narcissistic or full of myself. Typically I tend to be self deprecating and I come across as not liking myself too much. Feedback and support are encouraged and appreciated. Thanks for the understanding.

Twelfth Night Party

Tonight we had some friends from our former church over for a Twelfth Night Party. It is a celebration to teach the significance of the Epiphany which is the conclusion of the Christmas season. This was a night of fun where we had food, did a play of sorts and exchanged gifts in the spirit of a “dirty Santa” way. This is something we do each year and its a great time to get together with friends.

Where has the time gone? It’s all hard to believe

Wasn’t it like Halloween yesterday or something. Christmas came quick. Now it’s 2016, that came at us fast. Where in the heck did time go? Wobbly wobbly, timey wimey I suppose. Next thing you know it will be Lent and Easter.

#Sherlock Returns Tonight!

Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman return together for a episode that turns back time. This should be fun!

A Hope For 2016

In 2016 my hope for family and friends is to live in freedom of any pain, suffering, drama and anger. May we all have a life where we can have peace of mind and soul. The world is tough enough without us putting any more crisis into it. We need to hold fast to faith and hope that can sustain us throughout time. Too many people hold on to the hurts of history that the promise of the present is cloudy even doubtful. It is not easy to let go but sometimes you have to. No matter where the year takes you rely upon those things that can get you through. Tomorrow is today and today is tomorrows yesterday.
