This morning I made a ham and cheese omelette with biscuits and gravy to celebrate my wife’s birthday which is tomorrow. Saturday morning breakfasts are my favorite meal to prepare.

So We Did A Little Shopping Tonight

In Tennessee there is a tax free weekend where many school related purchases are made without a state or local sales tax. Tonight we took advantage of this and got ourselves two new Chromebooks. We spent under $400 for both and we are pleased with our purchases. I got a Toshiba 13″ and my wife a ASUS 11″ model. Both of our Dells were showing their age so we felt like it was a good time to make a change to help us be more productive and to have more fun!

A Day Without My Phone

Well I have discovered its possible to make it an entire work day without my phone. Granted I don’t need to use it heavily for my work there are still personal uses to connect with family and friends. I grew up in a time when mobile phones were a luxury item. Nowadays its a necessity for many reasons. Progress means having new things and new tools available to everyone and our mobile phones are a huge part of it.

Throwback Thursday: Can’t take my eyes off of you – Jersey Boys Movie

This is one of my favorite moments from the movie “Jersey Boys” which was directed by Clint Eastwood. Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons are one of the great groups in pop music history. This movie is one of my favorites because of the acting and the awesome music from a great era in time.

You can’t Instagram without your phone

I wanted to Instagram my salad I am having for lunch but I can’t without my phone. #firstworldproblem Not having a phone changes many of your behaviors and reveals habits you have with it.

I Left My Phone At Home This Morning

I am forgetful, we are all forgetful. This morning I left my mobile phone at home and it will be a day to get by without it. Fortunately I am connected at work so it’s not as big a deal as it could be. This does provide an interesting throwback Thursday though. It takes me back to a time when I didn’t worry about having a phone and I wasn’t hyper connected to everyone and everything everywhere I went. Nevertheless its still frustrating to forget something that has become a part of ones everyday life. Yes I know this is a first world problem and there are more serious things to be worried about. My phone gets the day off from me…I guess our gadgets need a break too.
