Hi there, my name is Tony Burgess (my friends call me T-Bird) from Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA. I am a believer, bleeding heart, idealist, and blogger. I'm married to Laura the Soup Diva and a dog dad to Frankie, Cody, and Mikey. Daily I work for a blood bank recruiting donors. My blog is where I chronicle and curate the sacred, serious, and silly things in my life. I am a member of The Episcopal Church. Thank you for connecting with me. Grace, peace, and love!

Something About Being Respectful

I am passionate about what I believe and with that being said I really hope I am respectful to others who might share my view or passion. Some folks who happen to be conservatives on Facebook are moving to other social platforms as a protest to the current political climate and to find a more supportive community. This is troubling and I hope I do my best to be considerate and kind.

If I have ever been disrespectful in these weird times, we live in, know that I am sorry and ask forgiveness. My bleeding heart is too big .

We are living in weird times my friends.

Monday Is Here, Keep Calm Everyone!

Sunday Reflection: A Couple of Things

The 2020 Election

The past week has been a time of waiting. A lot of waiting. Patience has been tested and for many rewarded. In a world of instant gratification where everyone expects to know things at the click of a mouse it can be challenging to just be still and wait for things.

Election 2020 in America has been taxing on everyone. Since the Summer the people waited to have their say. Some minds were made up for a long time while others made a judgement call in the last minute. Over 140,000,000 people had their say and that is a very healthy number if you ask me. It means they cared enough to brave COVID and to make a statement.

Now there is a new day dawning in America. We have to see how it goes from here on out. Now the work begins to make things happen for all of us.

Some Rambling Thoughts

Being prepared for something means having to go into the darkness and to find the power to light up your life. Strange as it may seem you have to be persistent when people won’t give you a hand. It’s never easy to step out because you are afraid you will miss out on something special. Hopefully you have a crew that will have your back and will be sure you can get back in. Being prepared is still the best thing to do.

Converse Kicks For The Vice President-Elect #KamalaHarris

Wearing my Converse kicks in honor of the Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris. Yesterday was a very good day for America.

President-Elect Joe Biden, The Person For The Present

Joe Biden is not demographic friendly. At age 78 he will be the oldest person to serve as President Of The United States. Some would rather have someone younger.

What he offers is experience and empathy. Those are important tools that are needed now more than ever to rebuild America better than it was before.

Is Biden perfect, no. But we don’t need perfect right now we need steady leadership and someone who will build bridges. To me this is going a time when Americans both liberal and conservative need to come together.

Senator Kamala Harris, Vice President-Elect

Kamala Harris is going to be able to communicate and offer her experience as a prosecutor to make a lot of good things happen in this new administration.

The work of reconciliation, renewal, revival and restoration now begins.

Let’s be united. It’s about time.
