Friends,
I hope to resume a more regular blogging format sometime soon. Right now I am focused on remembering my dad and chronicling my experiences through the loss I am going through. Reading your posts is giving me a nice diversion in the days I am living in. Your kindness and sympathy is appreciated. I want to thank you collectively instead of individually where I might forget someone. My world is changed, my heart aches, I will get through this in time. Don’t forget, you are all great.
Sincerely,
Tony
Everything is surreal. My heart aches.

My hero, my rock. My dad passed away last night. Gary R. Burgess July 1, 1947 – August 24, 2019. I love you so much dad. Rest in power. See the planets and stars as you make your way to heaven to be with the Saints and Angels. You are missed today and will be forever.
(Please do not reblog, thank you.)

Except for April, 2019 has sucked.
My parents assisted living community and our local Hospice organization are rock stars in the care of those who are dying. I’ve been touched by their professionalism and dedication to their work. With all we have been through they have been awesome.
