Juneteenth, also known as Juneteenth Independence Day or Freedom Day, is an American holiday that commemorates the June 19, 1865, announcement of the abolition of slavery in the U.S. state of Texas, and more generally the emancipation of enslaved African Americans throughout the former Confederate States of America.
Remember this time in history and realize that everyone should be free to live their lives as they wish.

Searching for treasure means getting dirty.
In advocacy I think training and mentoring people who are on your side is important. I’m a believer that if you are to build a team you need to advance your cause you have to be sure to welcome them and be forgiving if mistakes are made.
For example. It seems to me that any group who needs support from people who are on the outside their community should welcome it even if it’s not as perfect as they would want it to be. Now if you want anything done you can do it yourself or get helpers who can make a difference and if you show them the way then everyone can be on the same page.
Don’t assume someone will do things you have always done them. Change happens and if anyone is to stick around the the long haul you have to allow them ownership and the freedom to bring their experience to the table. In short don’t treat willing workers like children.
