A Quick Handmaid’s Tale Overview

handmaidstale

The Handmaid’s Tale is a story of cruelty, religious dogma and hate run amok by people who have taken scripture out of context and to promote ignorance of one gender to advance the cause of another. It is about the subjugation of women who are reduced to walking wombs to save the bacon of men who have done horrible things to the world. Today we seem to be inching closer to that reality by men who want to assert their dominance over people who are not like them. It is disturbing in every way possible. I wouldn’t want to live in such a world as Gilead. Tonight I’m wrapping up season two and its been a horrific ride.

Farewell Aretha Franklin, The Queen Of Soul Rest In Power… Throwback Thursday #TBT

Aretha Franklin, The Queen of Soul passed away today at age 76.

This is one of my favorite performances she did when she was in the movie “The Blues Brothers” with John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd. This scene showed her singing, acting and dancing talents.

Thanks for your gift that made music and the world better Aretha. You will live on and your influence will still be felt well on into the future.

Question Of The Day

Have you ever tried to substitute veggies for meat when you go out to eat? Granted you are meat oriented.

A Spider Web

Going out to my car early this morning I ran into a spider web that I didn’t see because it was dark. Needless to say it woke me up. I’m peeling remnants of the web off me which isn’t fun.
