I am learning the theatre community is more supportive, soulful, creative, compassionate, spiritual, diverse and kind than some places of faith who by definition should be. Perhaps the church needs to take a look and do something like that.

The Tony Awards are a much needed diversion from the sadness of the day. James Corden is hosting the 70th annual celebration of Theatre and Broadway. It’s going to be a great show.
Will Hamilton win everything, we shall see.
Baked Spaghetti
This is what we had for dinner tonight and it was delish. It’s an inexpensive meal that will last for a couple of days. Try it out yourself.
When my father passed away in 2006, several church friends brought food to the funeral home to feed the many family members visiting that week. One of my favorite dishes was baked spaghetti from a lovely lady named Terry. This is my version, which is different from hers, but still stands as a tribute to her kindness in a difficult time.
- 1 lb ground sausage
- 1 24 oz jar pasta sauce
- 16 oz vermicelli (thin spaghetti)
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups small-curd cottage cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella
- 2 tsp garlic paste or powder
- Parsley to garnish (optional)

America Reacts…A Good Way And Another Way #ihateguns

This political cartoon courtesy of The Chattanooga Times Free Press is from a few years ago when a mass shooting happened at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut. There is so much truth in this for many in America. I hate guns, I really do.
Quote Of The Day
A Reflection On The Last Couple Of Days In Orlando, Florida #prayfororlando #ripchristina #orlando
Much is still being learned about what happened in Orlando last night in the night club shooting. Until the facts are known then may cooler heads prevail. As a person who is both LGBTQ and Muslim friendly this concerns me about the greater fallout from this situation. There are extremists of every faith and you won’t find God on the fringes there. It’s in the middle where people build bridges, not walls in all faiths.
As a believer in Jesus I am called to love my neighbor as I love myself. In another note I am saddened for the family, friends and superfans of Christina Grimmie of The Voice who was murdered in Orlando on Friday night after performing a show at another nightclub. The land of hospitality and welcome featuring places like Universal and Disney and SeaWorld has had it rough the last few days. Grace, peace and comfort to them all in the coming days. Let justice prevail for all concerned.
