Six years ago I read the book “The Shack” and that book changed how I view my faith and what God does for his people who are in great sadness. A movie based on this book is coming out this weekend and I wanted to share with you what I thought about this profound story.

For the past few days I have been reading a great book called ?The Shack?. Written by William P. Young it tells the fictional story of a man named Mackenzie Allen Phillips or as he is informally known as ?Mack? and his struggles with his faith which has been shaken by a bad relationship with his father and the death of his daughter named Missy.
Mack goes through the heart wrenching search for Missy who is abducted by a serial killer. Missy?s blood soaked dress is found in a shack where Mack would go through an amazing spiritual journey that would lead him back to a reconciled relationship with his father and the forgiveness of the killer who took his daughter?s life.

Styx is a rock group that made it really big in the 1970’s and 1980’s. I saw them in Concert in 1983 during their “Kilroy Was Here” tour. This song is theatrical and has a theme of people not wanting to be robots but to be themselves, something everyone can identify with.
