I went to the graveside service of a friend of mines father who passed away a few days ago. The best way you can console someone is to be there for them. You don’t have to really do anything other than to just stand beside them and let them just talk. Words can be a comfort but presence is a greater comfort.

Everyone has experienced some form of loss and we all go through times when we need someone to just be in a place where they know they are cared for. Death or a breakup or anything that has changed your life is something we all have to deal with. Blessed are those who mourn and blessed are those who answer the call to offer care, comfort and compassion.

Today I am off to church and then to the funeral of a friends father. A Christmas tree will be decorated tonight too. Somehow the weekend has scooted by rather quickly. Whatever you are doing today have fun and take care. Grace, peace and love!

Life seems to be so overcomplicated these days. Too many pitfalls among other things that make our existence even more difficult. Drama with friends, family and the world doesn’t help. I am thinking that we need to simplify and take the complexity out of life. Simple stories with some predictability is kind of nice but even simplicity takes work. How do we take our overcomplicated world and try to make sense of it all. A tough question.
