Thinking About Woodmore Elementary School in #Chattanooga #woodmoreelementary

Thinking about the children who died, the children who survived, their families, the faculty and staff of Woodmore Elementary School in Chattanooga, Tennessee after Monday’s horrible bus crash. Grace and peace to them all. May they find comfort today and in the coming days.
Something About My Work At Blood Assurance
It’s been a very challenging couple of days for me professionally and a little personally. The work of me and my team at Blood Assurance our regional blood bank is vitally important to saving lives. Without our organization many peoples lives over the years would be in jeopardy. Yesterday and Today people of all races, creeds, nationalities and genders came to our doors to donate a huge part of themselves, their blood. Today I helped over 100 people set aside their time to come donate. Those folks are important in that they will have an opportunity to save 300 lives. That is something to be thankful for.
A Tragedy in Chattanooga
Yesterday afternoon there was a school bus crash in my hometown of Chattanooga, Tennessee that killed 5 elementary school students and injured many more. The crash was a horrible tragedy that has brought a community together to help these kids and to comfort those who were lost. The driver of the bus has been charged in this crash.
Chattanooga has seen its share of heartache over the past couple of years but we rally together when times are tough.
I work for a blood bank that services the hospital where these kids were taken. The outpouring people willing to donate their time and most importantly their blood has been overwhelming.
Today is going to be a very busy day for me as we get donors in and make connections with those who still want to help. Everyday is a challenge and this one is no exception.
Check out the Chattanooga Times Free Press for more on the story.
