I am still surprised that those of you who are under 30 are following and reading the musings of a middle aged dork to be quite amazing.

Rambling About Constancy

Some people desire constancy in their contentment. Routine and familiar surroundings make life comfortable. Growth however doesn’t happen when you are standing still. We all need to have life disrupted so that we can experience things to get us down the road of life. If one can get out and do things to make the world awesome. A shark must move to survive and humans need to do the same. Contentment and constancy are two things that work with and against each other, decide which one you want more of at any given time.

Saturday Sounds – Sting – Russians

This song seems to be appropriate for the times in which we live. “Russians” comes from the 1985 album Dream of The Blue Turtles. Sting’s early solo work inspired me and helped me shape my world view as a teenager. America might not be at odds with the Russians like we were back in the day but there is still a little animosity. Today there are new people we are afraid of.

Saturday Greetings

Hello fellow bloggers, how are you today? I hope it will be a great day for each of us.

An Evening Out With New Church Peeps

Last night we went out with friends from church. Since joining St. Peter’s Episcopal Church here in Chattanooga we have been blessed with a great Sunday school group called “The Table”. Some of us met up at a local restaurant called Clyde’s On Main for dinner. We dined on various things from barbecue to sandwiches to mac and cheese. After polishing off our meal we headed to the Hot Chocolatier for dessert and more conversation. We even stopped off at a local distillery to taste samples of Chattanooga Whiskey which is made in downtown Chattanooga.

Our evening out was fun and much needed for many of us after the week that was. Getting out and about can bring a group closer together. We did miss those who couldn’t be with us though.

It is my belief that faith is meant to be lived in community with people who you choose share your spiritual journey with. Christianity has a bad rap in some circles but when you find like-minded people it can be a good thing. I am grateful to be a part of an open-minded group of people who loves God with our brains, hearts and soul.
