Electricity is more of a necessity these days, but when you go without it for a while like many do, it is a definite luxury. This might sound like a first-world problem, but when we lost power last Saturday afternoon, it was not fun not having air conditioning and TV and Internet and access other stuff. So I am going to say electricity is what I can’t live without easily. I am grateful to the linemen and technicians who got our power back on late Sunday morning.

A Different Name
It’s cool that the King/Queen of England can choose a new name for themselves. The Pope also gets to change his name to a name that comes from a prior pope, or in the case of Francis he used Francis for the first time.
I believe a name carries some weight. It becomes your promise, trademark, and statement.
With all this being said, I like my name. It’s not all that common. Now if I were to change it I would like the name Peter. In the Bible, Peter is given the task of building the church and is considered to be the first Pope. Peter is derived from the word “Rock” not that I am a rock or anything like that, but I am a solid guy I think.
My Favorite Fruits
I am not a big fruit person. I know they are important, but they need to be transformed. Fruits that have been cooked into something I do like. Figs made into preserves like my Great Grandmother used to make is a favorite. I can also eat them dried. I enjoy a good apple pie with whipped cream on top. Raisins come from grapes and they are a favorite snack. I can eat strawberries raw. Tomato is a fruit technically, and I enjoy it used in a wide variety of things such as ketchup, salsa, marinara sauce and other savory applications.
What Job Would I Do For Free?
Before I got the job I have now, I did some volunteer work for a local charity that helps homeless folks transition to getting affordable housing. I answered phones and did some other things. I even served on the board of directors for a while. That was a fun thing to do as I looked for work. Volunteering is a good way to keep skills sharp and to give back.
At my church, I serve during the worship services as a communion assistant and as a live video streaming and sound tech. I have also served on the leadership team known as the vestry.
So I would guess I would do things for free that I feel passionate about and that can make a difference.
If Something Were Named After Me

If you could have something named after you, what would it be?
I am a fairly humble person. However, if my ego would permit it, I wouldn’t mind having a church pew with my name engraved on a small plaque or something like that. I can’t image anything grander than that.
However, if I wanted to go bigger, perhaps a scholarship in my name for students with learning disabilities. Anything practical that can make lives better would be alright with me.
I don’t think I have done much in life to earn such a tribute, really. I’ll let others be the judge of that.
One Word To Describe Me – Nerdy
There are about 4 words or so that can describe me. The words sincere, dorky, silly, quiet, and kind come to mind. However, the question above wants one word to describe me. I think the word that comes to mind is Nerdy.
I am very, very nerdy about a lot of things. It’s a good word that encompasses a lot of things, of which I am interested in. I am nerdy about religion, science fiction, pro wrestling, television, music, media, current events, Canada, and so much more.
Being nerdy is fun and makes you more well-rounded. Sometimes people will look at nerdy people in a peculiar way, and sometimes it can be a kind of lonely. However, I wouldn’t be any other way because you live and lead with your heart and what brings you joy. My friends, I am so nerdy.
