There are lots of things I have seen more than 5 times. Some have been seen in fragments. Here are a few.
I believe the most comfortable way to travel is by train. You have conveniences such as spacious washrooms, food/beverages, comfortable seats and some terrific views along the way. We have traveled in Canada by the VIA Rail system. I can say that the two times we have gone from Windsor to Toronto have been easier than if we went by bus. We did use the GO Rail system to travel to Niagara Falls from Toronto. We did take the bus on our last trip from Chattanooga to Detroit, and that was an adventure I recommend to anyone. So I am going to say trains if you have time to get from place to place.
My formal name is Anthony Leon Burgess. The name Leon comes from my maternal grandfather, whose middle name was also Leon. I bear his middle name proudly because he was a good man who I looked up to throughout my life. I also like the way my name flows, too.
I am not sure if this will make sense to many, but I believe a great leader is someone willing to serve. In my mind I believe you lead by example and that requires getting your hands dirty and doing some heavy lifting. Anyone who expects to get things done needs to inspire others and that means doing things that might seem impossible. There is a concept called servant-leadership and I buy into that a lot. Sometimes we can have too many chiefs and not enough workers too.
I find it easy to talk about the past because I have already been there. Memories can be fuel for conversation. Nostalgia can be a powerful thing. Retro things like media and culture can be comforting. The problem comes when you want to live in the past. That can inhibit growth and change that can be healthy.
It’s really hard to think about the future when there seems to be uncertainty and fear. Sure, it’s good to dream but those hopes need to be tempered as events unfold. There is a definite mystery to the future. You don’t know what is going to happen there. The picture below was generated using Artificial Intelligence. We are in the Christmas season which is a hard time for me. Nostalgia is a powerful thing. Holiday memories come from a Christmas tree, church services, songs, food, gatherings, and more. All of those things can stir up emotions.
My father, grandfather, and grandmother are no longer with us. I miss them very much. They were a huge part of the holidays of the past and I so wish they were still with us.
Sure, nostalgia is present in other things and can trigger feelings under the surface. It’s like we all have things that make us pine for the things of the past. Nostalgia can be a great thing but it comes with a cost to your heart.
